TISS to Host National Seminar on Youth Voices in the Digital Age

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) will organise a national seminar titled “Youth Voices in the Digital Age: Media, Literature, and Law at the Crossroads of Transformation,” focusing on the changing nature of youth engagement, identity, and rights in digitally mediated societies.

Mumbai: Organised with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the seminar aims to examine how digital technologies are reshaping communication, cultural expression, and democratic participation among young people.

The seminar will emphasise on marginalised youth voices, including indigenous, queer, and socially excluded communities. It will examine how digital tools can function both as instruments of empowerment and sites of inequality. Global and local perspectives on youth culture, language, and digital participation will also form a key part of the discussions.

TISS aims to create a collaborative academic space where young scholars and practitioners can engage with contemporary challenges such as mental health in online environments, digital literacy, gender representation, and emerging legal frameworks governing digital spaces.
