Student Preparing For MPSC Exam Kidnaps Man, Loots Rs 67,000.

Pune: A man was beaten near the entrance of the Swargate bus stand and taken to the Mukundnagar area on a two-wheeler. They had transferred Rs 67,000 through a digital payment app on his phone. A case has been registered against youth at Swargate police station under Pune city police.

 The name of the accused is Ganesh Darade, a resident of Patoda. A 27-year-old man from a village in Purandar taluka of Pune district has lodged a complaint in this regard. The search for Darade’s accomplice, in this case, is still going on.

 “Darade had come to Pune to study for the competitive examinations. However, he has committed the crime with the help of his accomplice”, informed Police Inspector Somnath Jadhav.

 According to the information given by the police, the complainant works with a bank in Alibag. On February 18, he arrived at the Swargate bus stand in Pune from Alibag at around 11:30 pm. It is said that he was looking for a vehicle to go to his native place. At that time, the accused approached him on a two-wheeler. Soon he was assaulted and forcefully taken on the bike near Satyam Shivam Bungalow in Mukundnagar. He was beaten again at that place and the robbers asked for the PIN of a digital payment app on his mobile phone. Accordingly, the first accused sent Rs 5,000 to a number. After that, he again sent Rs 60,000 and finally Rs 2,000. After that, both the accused ran away on two-wheelers.

 The complainant was terrified after this incident. He went to his village as his father was not well. Therefore, he delayed filing a complaint with the police.

 Police arrested the accused Darade based on the phone number to which the money was transferred. “Simultaneously, the search for Darade’s partner is going on”, informed Inspector Jadhav.
