Mumbai: The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra has issued a notice on 10th April, 2026, regarding a state-level essay competition organised from 14th April to 20th April, 2026, for the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Students of technical colleges, government industrial training institutes (ITIs), government technical schools, dual curriculum schools, and schools with minimum skills-based curriculum are eligible to participate in this competition.
Participants may enter into either one of two categories for the competition. Category 1 admits students from ITIs, diploma students, students from bifocal courses, and students from Minimum Competency Vocational Courses (MCVC), and assigns an essay length of 500-800 words. Category 2 is the Male/Female Open Category, and assigns an essay length of 800-1200 words.
The topic for the essay is “The Work Done by Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasahb Ambedkar for Women.” The essay is to be written in a formal tone in Marathi, and must be original, lest the student be disqualified. Participants have the freedom to either type or write by hand.
When sending in their essays, participants are required to mention their full name, the number of the Category in which they are competing, the name of their ITI, school or college, and their full address. DTE Maharashtra calls on all persons under its institutions, as well as students, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff, to participate and promote this event.
