New Delhi. : Shrenik Mohan Sakala, an Amravati native who plans to pursue a career in applied mathematics, will be taking the JEE Main 2022 exam in order to get admitted as a computer science student at either IIT Mumbai or Delhi.

Shrenik Mohan Sakala, an Amravati native and one of the 24 JEE Main 2022 top scorers with a perfect score, says he wants to pursue a profession in applied mathematics, which has lead him to his IIT dream. He wants to enrol at the IITs in Delhi or Mumbai to study computer science.
The lockdown and its imposed online learning limits, according to a student from Maharishi Public School in Amravati, Sakala, who passed the JEE mains with a score of 99 percent in Physics and Chemistry and 98 percent in Mathematics, came as a blessing to him.
"I have always preferred to learn on my own. Students who have trouble maintaining self-control may have had difficulty learning online because they are easily distracted by technology or other items. For me, it cut down on commuting time and provided me a complete day to study at home, whenever I wanted, the man stated.
Since I am adept at avoiding distractions, I only studied for six or seven hours a day, but my focus remained unwavering throughout. Since my younger sister was taking her class 10 exams this year, our mother made sure there were few distractions at home while we were studying. People stay in hostels to escape distractions, but my mother made sure I wasn't bothered even if we had visitors," he remarked.
Sakala is interested in studying computer science with an emphasis on data science at IIT Delhi or Mumbai considering their track record in the field and the course content and alumni placements at various IITs.
He had previously excelled in class 10 at his previous school, which was associated with IGCSE, with a score of 98.4%, but he shifted to a CBSE school for the NCERT curriculum since it helped him better prepare for the JEE Main exams.
Actually, I like calculus and other applied mathematics. I also found the Indian Statistical Institute while looking at math careers, but most people go there to study theoretical math, so I went with IIT," the top student added.
He has so far received two scholarships: the National Talent Search Exam Scholarship, which he earned two years ago, and the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yogana Scholarship, a programme that the government has since discontinued. He said that the Rs 15,000 scholarship he obtained for classes 11 and 12 was used to cover the cost of distance learning classes for JEE preparation. He will receive Rs 25,000 per year for the following four years. While his mother stays at home, his father works in an industry related to agriculture.
