‘Senate 2022’ Annual Management Conclave of SIBM Pune.

*The conclave had four sessions which included a keynote address and three panel discussions.

Pune: Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Pune, organized its annual flagship management conclave, ‘Senate 2022’ on 12th March 2022 facilitated by the Corporate Interface Team. ‘Senate 2022’ hosted by the Corporate Interface Team of SIBM Pune focused on the theme of “Total Leadership: The Journey from Good to Great”. This concept encapsulates four aspects of leadership, namely, internal, external, social, and business.

The conclave had four sessions which included a keynote address and three panel discussions. Mr. Praveen Gandhi, Group Head – Total Rewards, HR Policy & Process at RPG gave his insights for the Keynote session on how to balance gut instinct with data when making business decisions. This was followed by a panel discussion on innovative brand experience that is required to bring loyalty out of customers.

Roopank Chaudhary, Global Partner, and Indian Chief Commercial Officer, India at Aon, Manasi Narasimhan, Vice President & Head, Marketing & Communications, South Asia at Mastercard, Shilpi Kapoor, Director Marketing at American Express, Saumil Mehta, Director and Country Manager at The Kraft Heinz Company and Snigdha Bose, Associate Vice President – Planning at Taproot Dentsu contributed to the discussion with their own experiences. They shared their wisdom and knowledge in equal measure on how to understand the pulse of the customer.

The next panel discussions on evolving business models and the new perspective through which we observe them was facilitated by Richa Singh, CFO at Mars Incorporated, Pankaj M. Joshi, Director Sales at Beam Suntory, Raghuram Krishnan, Director Finance at Adobe, Pankaj Jathar, CEO at Prione Business Services and Jinu Jose, Vice President RDS at IQVIA. Their perspectives lend a keen eye on how various industries are shaping up with innovation-focused business models.

The final panel discussion was oriented towards the aspect of providing a shared culture in a distributed office environment. The speakers who contributed to the discussions were Shikha Singhal, Head-People Practices at Axtria, Satender Sighadia, Chief Human Resource Leader at FMC Corporation, Tania Chatterjee, Director HR and India Lead at Natwest Group and Atma Godara, Production HR at Netflix. Their experiences showed us how to make the best of difficult times and adapt to keep all stakeholders, including employees of an organization in sync.

SIBM, Pune’s aim is to foster holistic management education by bridging the gap between industry and academia through significant corporate connections and giving students the opportunity to enhance their management skills.
