Mumbai: The School of Aviation (SOA) at Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (SVKM’s NMIMS) has announced 29th April, 2026 as the last date to apply for its Bachelor of Science with Honours programme in Aviation. The institute has been accepting applications since 5th March, 2026 for the programme, which is to commence by 11th August, 2026.
A robust combination of theory and practical knowledge is to be offered to ensure success in the field of aviation. Through a syllabus that comprises topics such as navigation, systematic and efficient air regulation, the study, design and maintenance of aircraft and engines, meteorology, and flight training, as well as in-depth evaluations through projects and case studies, the programme provides its learners with career planning support, the theoretical foundations of a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), the practical knowledge of air traffic control (ATC) and airport operations, and industry exposure. Moreover, such a degree offers a wide variety of career opportunities, including roles such as charter pilot, corporate pilot, cargo pilot, airline pilot, flight instructor, flight dispatcher, flight attendant, line technician, load planner, and more.
This B.Sc. (Hons.) programme is to be taught full-time over the course of four years and is divided into eight semesters. It is to be conducted on both the Mumbai and the Shirpur campuses of NMIMS; first year is to be completed in Mumbai while the second year onwards, the programme is to be continued at Shirpur.
As per the guidelines of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the B.Sc. (Hons.) Aviation programme offers multiple exit options over its duration. Should students wish to discontinue the degree after the first year itself, they will receive an Undergraduate Certificate of Aviation after meeting all the curricular requirements of the year. Should they wish to exit after the second year, they will receive a Diploma in Aviation after the fulfilment of all curricular requirements. A B.Sc. degree is to be awarded in the case of an exit after the third year. Only upon the successful completion of the fourth and final year of the programme will a student be awarded the Honours degree.
Eligible individuals for the programme include those who have either passed the 10+2 system of education or completed a diploma from any recognised board, with an aggregate of 50% and Physics and Mathematics as core subjects. Applicants who already have an Indian CPL or Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL) may be enrolled into the second year of the degree directly.
To register online, applicants are to visit the official NMIMS website. They will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of ₹2000. Candidates are advised to read all instructions provided in the form for payment details or further information related to the admission process.
Selected candidates may find their names in the Merit List, which is to be released on the institute's website on 20th May, 2026. This selection will be based on the marks obtained during the personal interview round that is to follow the registration process. Call letters will be made available for this round as of 4th May, 2026, while the interview itself will be conducted online on 11th May, 2026.
While the fees for the 2025 batch of the programme were ₹1,00,000 per annum with the fees for the flying hours plus hostel at Shirpur being ₹49,00,000 + ₹2,00,000, the fees for the 2026 batch will be mentioned at the time of admission in the offer letter.
