MSBTE and CII Partner to Train Technical Diploma Students for Overseas Employment

Students are to receive a technical education designed for job procurement specifically in Germany, Japan and Russia

Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 22nd April, 2026, with the goal of enhancing the international job prospects of all technical students at the diploma level under the state board. This goal is to be achieved primarily through the development of the linguistic and communicational skills required for employment specifically in Germany, Japan and Russia.

These skills are essential not only for verbal communication but also for the cultivation of a cultural sensitivity towards German, Japanese and Russian societies, so that Indian migrants may effectively navigate their professional sphere in these countries. These abilities will be additionally coupled with a technical training refined to meet the industrial standards of global markets, thereby reiforcing students’ confidence in their capacities in overseas environments.

This agreement between MSBTE and CII, formalised in the presence of the Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Maharashtra, Mr. Chandrakant Patil, serves as an extension of the state government’s Maharashtra–Germany–Japan Skilled Workforce Mobility Initiative. This initiative aims to strengthen economic ties between Maharashtra and the mentioned countries by preparing the state's students to meet the increasing demand abroad for skilled labour through the provision of the necessary linguistic and technical education.

The agreement tasks the CII with the implementation of this initiative through its Rahul Bajaj Centre of Excellence on Skills. MSBTE, on the other hand, will be responsible for the provision of the prescribed infrastructure, such as classrooms and laboratories.

All parties involved are advised to coordinate and monitor their proceedings to ensure successful effectuation.
