Navi Mumbai: MGM Institute of Health Sciences (MGMUHS), Navi Mumbai, has announced a hands-on training programme on nutritional therapy for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients, aimed at strengthening the skills of healthcare professionals involved in patient care.
The programme will be conducted by the Department of Clinical Nutrition at the MGM School of Biomedical Sciences, Kamothe, and is supported by the Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The training focuses on building practical expertise in nutritional assessment, dietary management and counselling for CKD patients, an area increasingly important in long-term disease management. Organisers say the initiative aims to create a trained workforce capable of addressing the nutritional challenges faced by patients with chronic kidney disease.
Participants will receive hands-on exposure to clinical nutrition practices, including screening techniques, assessment methods and counselling strategies used during conventional treatment, dialysis and transplantation.
The programme will combine online and offline training sessions, allowing participants to gain theoretical knowledge along with direct clinical exposure in a tertiary care hospital setting.
