Among the top business schools in India, KJSIM has the prestigious AACSB accreditation.
Starting the Class of 2026-2028, KJSIM will implement a unique initiative called Somaiya Ventures for students wanting to develop entrepreneurship. The initiative will allow students the opportunity to develop and refine business ideas and models while completing their MBA. Students will receive mentorship and support from the innovation center as well as guidance from industry professionals. Students will receive initial funding for their ventures from a professional active fund of 1 crore INR.
Selected ventures will receive additional assistance from incubation and funding networks. Students will gain the unique experience of taking their business ideas and models out of the classroom, and, of course, gain their first experience in entrepreneurship. The inaugural function was graced by the Chief Guest, Shri. Motilal Oswal, the Guest of Honor, Shri. Samir Somaiya, and Dr. Raman Ramachandran, KJSIM Dean & Director.
A Cohort Built for the Complexity Ahead
The new cohort is segmented into the MBA, MBA in Healthcare Management, and MBA in Sports Management. The highest grouping in the new cohort is MBA in Commerce graduates (55%). The remaining MBA graduates are from MBA in Engineering (8%), MBA in Sciences (7%), MBA in Arts (4%), and other MBA programs. First-time MBA students account for 80% of the new cohort, and the remaining 20% are MBA students with prior work experience.
To further ease access to management education, KJSIM provided ₹1.32 crore in scholarships and financial assistance to the incoming class, including full scholarships.
Market Message
Motilal Oswal was the Chief Guest and offered the following advice to the student audience:
"I would like you to expand your viewpoints regarding wealth. Financial wealth is only one type of wealth. There is intellectual, physical, emotional, and social wealth. I advise you to determine your own goals for success and construct a life that is consistent with your goals and your values. I hope that you are as successful as you wish in creating a life full of all the forms of wealth that you wish: knowledge, health, relationships, purpose, and prosperity. Work to earn a name that will help you everywhere. By the mere mention of your name, all will be done for you."
Where Values Meet Vision
Chancellor Samir Somaiya made the following remarks to the students:
"Welcome to the Somaiya family. You will understand that you are entering a world that is growing more difficult to understand. There are challenges that are the result of climate change and the changing of political and economic conditions around the world. However, these challenges must be embraced by those who learn to understand them, create them, and most importantly, lead them. We require the kind of person who will not only build successful careers, but also help advance the State and Society. I advise you to remain curious. Take risks and have an entrepreneurial mindset. Most importantly, learn to fall in love with life."
Engineering Day-One Capability
At KJSIM, we have one guiding belief: graduates of this institution should not require any ramp-up time.
With the philosophy of ‘Transforming Together’, we turn belief into action.
Raman Ramachandran, Dean and Director of KJSIM, urged the new cohort to consider their MBA journey as a means of transformation, as opposed to the traditional view of education.
“I encourage you to view this programme as a formative experience that has the potential to shape your thoughts, your leadership, and your ability to create enduring impact for the years ahead.”
He then clarified the KJSIM Way by saying,
“At KJSIM, you will gain the ability to think and act differently as a result of the fusion of the learning of diverse concepts and the development of a spectrum of competencies through the application of rigorous standards and personal transformation. You will exercise responsibility through the embrace of professionalism and the core values of the institution, and you will have a sense of belonging by virtue of the meaningful relationships and networks you will forge, and that will last a lifetime.”
The opening week of the MBA program is taught by a team of faculty that consists of both skilled academics and professionals who provide students with their first insight into the workplace. This is continuous access, not contact, through every semester, every live project, every alumnus interaction, and every placement-facilitating internship.
With a global alumni base of over 16,000 and more than 20 partner universities, the collaborations extend beyond KJSIM. At KJSIM, the transformation is the journey, not the destination, and not the two-year experience.
