Pune: The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune will celebrate National Science Day (NSD) 2026 on February 28 with a day-long programme featuring lectures, science shows, exhibitions, quizzes and interactive activities across its campus.
Centred on the theme “Women in Science: Catalyzing Viksit Bharat,” the event will run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and is open to science enthusiasts, students and the general public. The celebrations will begin with an inaugural ceremony at the New Lecture Hall, followed by a series of talks under the segment ‘Let’s Meet the Scientists,’ where IISER faculty will unpack topics ranging from bioactive lipids and protein science to data-driven school experiments.
A highlight of the day will be the ‘SciQuest’ Grand Science Show by the IISER Outreach Team, alongside a special science demonstration by Padma Shri awardee Arvind Gupta at the Amphitheatre.
All-day events will include live experiments, student and teacher STEM project showcases, astronomy sessions, a puzzle zone, and an online science quiz streamed on YouTube. Entry to the campus will be through the Baner Gate.
