Pune: As of 21st April, 2026, the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune is inviting application for several of its courses from industry professionals for its 2026 August Semester.
This initiative is motivated by a desire to foster a symbiotic relationship between industry and academia. Enhanced theoretical knowledge through research combined with practical professional insights is expected to boost skill development and innovative pursuits, thereby contributing to sustainable economic growth.
Thus, Industry professionals may select from a total of thirty two theory courses offered by IISER Pune. These courses are distributed across eight departments, namely, Data Science, Physics, Biology, Science Education, Earth and Climate Science, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Chemistry.
Candidates will be required to pay a fee of ₹ 50,000, per course, including GST charges as applicable.
Once enrolled, all lectures will be conducted on workdays, and must be compulsorily attended. Internal course evaluations, as well as mid-semester examinations and end-semester examinations will be similarly compulsory, with the pass criteria for industry-professional students being the same as that which is applied to IISER’s regular learners. Students will be required to maintain a minimum attendance of 60% across all tutorials and evaluations.
The successful completion of the course will be rewarded with a certificate.
