ICAR Sponsored Short Course on Agro Industrial Waste to Be Held in Akola

Ten-day training programme focuses on sustainable waste management and agricultural utilisation

Akola: The Department of Soil Science, Post Graduate Institute, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV), Akola, will organise an ICAR-sponsored Ten Days Short Course Training Programme on “Management of Agro and Industrial Waste and its Utilization in Agriculture” from February 9 to February 18, 2026.

The programme aims to enhance scientific understanding and practical skills related to agro-industrial waste management, soil carbon sequestration, and climate change mitigation in agriculture. It is intended for scientists, assistant professors, and subject matter specialists from ICAR institutes and State Agricultural Universities.

The course will include classroom lectures, hands-on training, and field exposure to facilities such as biochar plants, vermicomposting units, and farmers’ fields. Participants will also be trained in waste valorisation, conservation agriculture, and circular economy approaches.
