Mumbai: The Maharashtra Government has decided to award grace marks for sports to students appearing for Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams.

Professor Varsha Gaikwad, Minister of School Education, said that it has been agreed to provide grace marks to 10th and 12th grade students based on their involvement in sports contests in previous schooling years.

In a tweet, she said, “Covid restrictions on sports should not deprive our meritorious sportspersons of availing the benefit of additional marks in board exams, hence have instructed Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education to consider past performances in sporting events of Std 7th and Std 8th for Std 10th students and Std 9th and 10th for Std 12th students.”
