Dhirubhai Ambani International School Wins ISSO Swimming Tournament With 23-Medal Haul
Pune: Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS) and Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School (NMAJS), Mumbai, won the ISSO Swimming Championship 2025, winning a total of 23 medals (10 gold, 11 silver, and 2 bronze).
This dominance of DAIS swimmers in the Balewadi pool indicates their growing interest in swimming at the inter-school level and adds another national-level sporting achievement at DAIS. The school records show many other winning records at the ISSO swimming competitions in recent years.
Individual swimmers drive medal rush
Leading the medal rush were DAIS and NMAJS swimmers. Anahata Malur was one of the key medal winners with three gold medals. Following her were two gold and one silver medal performances by Tarini Majumder, and two gold and one bronze by Kabir Khubchandani.
The following swimmers also scored key individual performances:
- Shruti Swami - 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze
- Nivedita Shah - 3 silver medals
- Tanishi Majumder - 3 silver medals
- Anahita Mehendale - 1 silver medal (recognised as the youngest participant)
DAIS swimmers won these and many more medals that set up the 23-medal haul.
Relay teams add gold to DAIS tally
Individual performances were not the sole deciding factors for the championships. Relay teams scored vital points. Holding two gold medals were the Under-14 girls' relay team of Anahata Malur, Tanishi Majumder, Misha Baijal and Reya Parikh.
The Under-14 boys' relay team of Kabir Khubchandani, Karam Veer Khubchandani, Satyaveer Khubchandani and Abir Malur won two silver medals.
DAIS's Synthesis Swimming Record
This title augments an existing swimming record held by Dhirubhai Ambani International School.
DAIS won first place in the aggregate medal tally with 14 gold, 4 silver and one bronze, for a total of 19 medals, at the ISSO National School Games Swimming competition which was held at Balewadi, Pune in September 2024.
The swimming achievements page of DAIS records many other individual achievements at ISSO championships. Tarini Mazumder, for example, won the title of Individual Champion in the Under-19 Girls in the 2025 ISSO National Swimming Championships after winning the gold in the 800m freestyle and the 50m breaststroke and winning the silver in the 50m freestyle.
Why the ISSO Title Matters
This goes beyond just one competition. ISSO describes itself as a national sports organisation offering opportunities at a national level for international-curriculum schools in India.
For DAIS, this swimming title adds to the various other sporting activities such as football, judo, taekwondo, fencing, karate, and gymnastics, in which they provide opportunities for competitive sporting activities.

DAIS and NMAJS broke yet another sporting record with their total of 23 medals in the ISSO Swimming Tournament 2025. With their 10 Gold medals, they led in the individual events and relays, displaying the strength of their swimming program.
