Maharashtra Shines in CA Final Results: Rajan Kabra Tops India, Manav Shah Secures Third Rank.

Both students crack CA Final in first attempt; Rajan from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar bags All India Rank 1, Manav from Mumbai ranks third.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has declared the results of the CA Final examination held in May 2025, bringing pride to Maharashtra as two of its candidates secured positions in the top three national ranks. Rajan Kabra from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar clinched the All India Rank 1, while Manav Shah from Ghatkopar, Mumbai secured Rank 3rd.

Rajan, who is currently pursuing his articleship at a company in Mumbai and resides in Andheri, expressed surprise over his top rank. “I was expecting to be in the top 50, but topping nationally was unexpected,” he said. Rajan, son of a Chartered Accountant, always aspired to follow the same path. To dedicate more time to CA preparation, he opted for distance education for his graduation. Alongside academics, Rajan actively engaged in ICAI's extracurricular activities like public speaking, debates, and quiz competitions. “Many students aren’t aware of these opportunities offered by ICAI,” he added. This was Rajan’s first attempt at the exam.

Manav Shah, who stood third nationally, drew inspiration from his elder brother, a practicing CA. “He became a CA when I had just begun my graduation, and that motivated me,” said Manav, an alumnus of N M College, Vile Parle. He completed his B.Com in 2023-24 and cleared CA in his first attempt. To manage the pressure of long study hours, Manav played cricket with friends to unwind. With a few months remaining in his articleship, he plans to work in the industry for a few years before starting his own practice.

Out of the 29,286 students who appeared for the May 2025 CA Final examinatio ,5490 candidates passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 18.75%.
