Amravati: Air India has invited applications to its Cadet Pilot Programme for 2026. Aspiring aviators have the opportunity to be endowed with Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Training by certified instructors, receive a Type Rating to pilot a specific type of aircraft, and use the best aviation technology at the Air India Flying Training Academy (AIFTA).
Those who wish to apply for the programme must have either Indian citizenship or an Overseas Citizenship or India (OCI), and must fall within the age range of 18 to 30 years. They must be fluent in the English language, both in writing and speaking. They are required to have an education till the Higher Secondary level (10+2), with a minimum score of 60% in English, Mathematics and Physics, each.
As for physical requirements, candidates must have a height of at least 158 centimetres tall. In addition to physical health, they must also be in sound mental condition. They will be required to clear the Class 1 Medical test under the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Examination (DGCA) before they may be permitted to commence training.
All applications will undergo an initial screening to ensure consistency with the above-discussed eligibility criteria. This stage will be followed by an online assessment for shortlisted applicants’ to evaluate their cognitive and behavioural skills. The candidates clearing this stage will be finally called for personal interviews to close the selection process.
Details regarding fees will be provided only once the selected candidate is enrolled into the Academy, although fees for this programme have been generally observed to be over ₹1 crore and ₹1.5 crore.
The last date for receipt of applications is 20th April, 2026.
