Nagpur: The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur) and Ramdeobaba University (RBU) have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic, research and institutional collaboration between the two institutions.
The partnership aims to create opportunities for cooperation across management development, faculty and student exchange, internships, collaborative research, doctoral co-supervision, academic publications and joint academic programmes.
The MoU brings together IIM Nagpur's expertise in management education with Ramdeobaba University's multidisciplinary academic strengths, with both institutions seeking to expand collaboration in education, research, faculty development and institutional growth.
IIM Nagpur-RBU MoU: Key Areas of Collaboration
Under the five-year agreement, the two institutions will explore and undertake initiatives in several areas, including:
- Management development programmes
- Faculty exchange and academic interaction
- Student exchange opportunities
- Internships and industry-oriented learning
- Collaborative research projects
- Doctoral co-supervision
- Joint research publications
- Joint academic programmes
- Faculty development and knowledge sharing
- Other academic and institutional initiatives of mutual interest
The collaboration is expected to provide students and faculty members with greater opportunities to interact across disciplines, undertake research and gain exposure to different academic environments.
Satyanarayan Nuwal Highlights Importance of Collaboration
Speaking at the occasion, Satyanarayan Nuwal, Padma Shri awardee and Chairman of Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti (SRSS), expressed satisfaction over the collaboration with IIM Nagpur.
Nuwal highlighted the potential of the partnership to create new opportunities for academic, institutional and knowledge exchange. He also emphasised the importance of faculty in building strong and credible educational institutions.
He noted that faculty competence needs to be supported by credibility, commitment and a clear sense of purpose, while expressing confidence that the partnership would allow both institutions to share expertise and explore initiatives of mutual value.
IIM Nagpur Director Calls MoU a New Beginning
Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, described the agreement as “a new beginning” in the relationship between the two institutions.
He said that Ramdeobaba University has significant potential to emerge as an institution with greater national and global standing. According to the institute, the partnership will combine IIM Nagpur's management expertise with RBU's multidisciplinary capabilities.
The collaboration is expected to support the institutions' efforts in education, research, faculty development and institutional advancement.
MoU Formalised by IIM Nagpur and RBU
The MoU was formally signed by Dr Rajesh Pande, Vice Chancellor, Ramdeobaba University, on behalf of RBU and Dr Bhimaraya Metri, on behalf of IIM Nagpur.
The signing ceremony was attended by Satyanarayan Nuwal, Rajendra Purohit, General Secretary, SRSS, Dr Meghana Hasamnis, Incharge – National & International Relations, RBU, and Prof. Alok Kumar Singh, Dean – Executive Education, IIM Nagpur, among others.
The agreement marks another step towards strengthening institutional partnerships and creating new avenues for academic exchange, research collaboration and professional development.
