VNIT Nagpur Releases Presentation & Interview Schedule for Faculty Recruitment in Mining Engineering

Nagpur: In response to applications received since 4th July, 2025, the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) has released the schedule for the selection procedure for faculty positions in the Department of Mining Engineering. This is a two-stage procedure consisting of teaching presentations and personal interviews for applicants shortlisted for the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor Grades I and II.

Both stages will be carried out in two batches over two days. The presentations for the first batch, consisting of 18 candidates for the post of assistant professor, will be held on 25th April, 2026, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. The remaining candidates for the assistant professorship as well as the applicants for the other faculty positions are to present on the same day from 2 P.M. onward. Interviews for the batch will be conducted on 26th April, 2026, from 9:30 A.M. onward, while those for the second batch will be conducted on 27th April, 2026, from 11:30 A.M. onward.

The presentations are to be delivered in the respective departments. Candidates are required to present on any subject in the curriculum, not on the topic of their Ph.D., and must make use of white/black boards. The time limit for the presentation, including the following question & answer session, is 15 minutes. 

The personal interviews will involve candidates elaborating on their most recent research work, and the research they intend to undertake in the future upon joining the institute. They are to make use of a PowerPoint presentation as a visual aid for this stage. 

Applicants are instructed to carry with them original versions of identity proofs such as Driving License, Passport, "Aadhaar" Card, Voter ID card issued by the Election Commission of India, or PAN Card issued by the Income Tax Department of India.

Those serving in Government, Semi-Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities, and/or Educational Institutions are required to provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) as issued by competent authority at the time of the presentation/interview.

Reservations mandated by the Government of India are applicable to all posts.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), or Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), are to produce caste certificates, Income and Asset certificates, and/or any other relevant certificates in original form as issued by competent authority at the time of the selection procedures.

Persons With Disability (PWD) will be required to produce a medical certificate in the prescribed form issued by the competent medical authorities for employment consideration. Only those individuals diagnosed with a minimum disability of 40% under the categories a, b, d & e of Memorandum No. 36035/02/2017-Estt (Res) of the Department of Personnel & Training Office, dated 15th January 2018, may be eligible for this reservation.

No individual interview call letters or e-mails will be sent to the shortlisted applicants prior to the days of the selection process. They are to follow the provided schedule for presentations and interviews, and must carry all relevant certificates, testimonials and documents for verification, lest they be marked Absent.
