Pune: The Department of Linguistics at Deccan College Post Graduate and Research Institute has invited applications for two job openings for Temporary Assistant Professor. This position is to be filled temporarily for eleven months of the Academic Year 2026-2027 for the purpose of teaching postgraduate papers in Linguistics.
Candidates may be regarded as eligible should they have either a postgraduate or a doctoral degree in Linguistics, with a minimum score of 55% in the University Grants Commission's National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) for the same discipline. Those with prior experience in teaching Linguistics and/or any of its sub-areas—such as Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Psycholinguistics, Applied Linguistics, and Translation Studies—at the postgraduate level will be given preference.
The position will receive a remuneration of ₹ 50,000 per month. Benefits such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travelling Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance will not be provided.

The application is to be accompanied by other uploads. Applicants are to share JPG/JPEG/PNG files up to 50 KB each of both a recent passport-size colour photograph (3.5 x 3.5 cm with 80% face coverage, resolution 200x230) of themselves, and a scan of their signature on white paper with blue or black ink (resolution 140x60). They must also upload PDF files of 512 KB each of scanned, self-attested copies of allied documents like Certificates, Mark Sheets, Degree Certificates, Experience, Caste and/or Disability Certificates, etc.
All required forms and documents are to be e-mailed to registrar@dcpune.ac.in and lng.office@dcpune.ac.in by 5:30 P.M. on 4th May, 2026. The end of the application process will be followed by a round of online interviews for the short-listed candidates either later during May or June, 2026.
