Haryana: For success in life, contribution of healthy body and mind is the most important. The role of exercise, meditation for a healthy life has been important since ancient times. This is the reason why Yoga is considered to be the basis of healthy life not only in India but all over the world. It is clear from the organization of the 8th International Yoga Day organized on the theme of Yoga for Humanity that today Yoga has become synonymous with the development and betterment of humanity. This view was shared by Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh in the University on the occasion of the 8th International Yoga Day.
This program organized by the Dean Student Welfare Office, Department of Yoga, National Service Scheme (NSS), Resident Welfare Association and Yog Bharti Haryana.
Various yoga activities were conducted as per the Yoga Protocol laid down by the Ministry of AYUSH. In the program, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's speech was played through live medium in the program organized on Yoga Day in Mysuru. After this, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, while addressing the participants through online medium, made the participants aware of the importance of yoga in life. He said that the basis of a successful, happy life is good health and a healthy body and mind can be achieved through exercise and yoga.
On this occasion a panel discussion on ‘Yoga for Humanity’ was also organized. In this discussion Prof. Sunita Srivastava highlighted the importance of Yoga for humanity and said that India is the land of Yoga and India has been the basis of healthy and successful life of Indian people since ancient times.
More than 1000 participants participated in various programmes organized through online and offline mode on IDY by the University.
