Coimbatore - The Department of Mathematics, Bharathiar University, will organize a today workshop on "Ethical Values in Teaching and Research" on 2-3 February 2026, add the seminar hall.Department of mathematics , bharatiya university campus coimbatore. The workshop is sponsored by DST-ANRF.
The workshop aims to promote integrity, responsibility and professionalism in higher education by creating awareness about ethical principles governing teaching learning processes evaluation practices and academic conduct. It seeks to strengthen ethical standards in academic writing, research communication and scholarly publishing in line with institutional and national policies.
Participants will gain insight into research and publication ethics with special emphasis on issues such as plagiarism, similarity analysis and responsible data management. The programme also focuses on building a strong ethical culture that supports excellence and trust in teaching and research. The workshop is being conducted as an SSR activity under an ongoing ANRF-CRG project.

Key themes of the workshop include ethical values in higher education; ethics in teaching–learning and evaluation practices; ethics in academic writing and research communication; research ethics with emphasis on scientific integrity and responsibility; policies and best practices in research and publication ethics; plagiarism and similarity analysis; research ethics and data management in the AI era; open data practices; and building an ethical academic culture.
The workshop is intended for faculty members, offering an academic platform for meaningful discussions on ethical challenges and best practices in contemporary teaching and research environment.
