KOLKATA, March 26 – The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially invited online applications for the state-level entrance examination for admission into nursing courses for the 2026-2027 academic session. This entrance test is the essential gateway for students aspiring to join the Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) training institutes across West Bengal. To ensure a smooth experience, the Board has established strict rules for the day of the examination:
- Candidates should arrive at the center at least 30 minutes before the test starts.
- Candidates must carry a printed copy of their admit card, a copy of the photograph uploaded during registration, and an original photo ID (such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card, or School ID).
- No electronic devices, including mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or Bluetooth devices, are allowed inside the hall. Even pens and wristwatches are prohibited.
- Responses must be marked using a blue or black ballpoint pen by darkening the circles completely. Overwriting or using white ink is not allowed and may lead to the cancellation of the OMR sheet.
After the exam, the Board will publish Model Answer Keys on its website, allowing candidates to challenge any answers for a fee of ₹500 per question. The final results will be released in the form of a Rank Card, which shows the candidate's score and rank.
There will be two separate ranks published: one for ANM(R) and one for GNM. The final admission and seat allotment will be handled through an online e-Counseling process based on the General Merit Rank (GMR). Successful candidates will be allotted seats in government or private nursing colleges based on their performance and the availability of seats.
