“Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth”: Week long CCA & NSS Camp at JMI culminates with a cultural festival

Both the judges visit the respective states area of the house and praise the students for their commendable efforts to reflect the diversity in India at one place and grade them accordingly.

New Delhi :- A week-long Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) & NSS camp organized by the Department of Teacher Training and Non-Formal Education (IASE), Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) culminated on 20th December, 2023. The camp was started on 14th December as part of “Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth” campaign.

A cultural festival was organized by IASE, JMI on the last day of the camp.  Offg.Vice-Chancellor of JMI Prof. Eqbal Hussain was Chief Guest of the function and Prof. Seemi Farhat, Dean Student Welfare (DSW), JMI was the Guest of Honour.  Prof. Sara Begum, Dean Faculty of Education, Prof. Naheed Zahoor, Head of the Department also graced the occasion with their presence.

Offg.Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eqbal Hussain inaugurated the cultural festival and visited the areas of all eight houses representing different states of the country. All the houses put their sincere efforts to reflect the art and culture of the respective states allotted to them i.e. Manipur, Tamilnadu, Goa, Gujrat, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan. The esteemed chief guest of the day praised students for their commendable efforts and unwavering commitment to reflect the diversity in India.

The inaugural segment featured Tilawat-e-Quran and introduction of the guests of the day followed by the rendition of the Jamia Tarana orchestrated by the student choir under the direction of Mr. Zeeshan Zameer. The magazine namely Jashn-e-Naubahar was launched by the Chief Guest followed by the keynote address. The ceremony continued with the rendition of the NSS song followed by the CCA & NSS report presented by students. The event continued with the concluding remarks delivered by Prof. Seemi Farhat,DSW,JMI. The proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks extended by the participating students. The Assembly culminated on a resounding note with the rendition of the national anthem.

In the second part of the day, commencing at 2:00pm post-lunch, the events was graced with the presence of esteemed judges Prof. Sara Hussain and Dr. Mohammad Ziauddin including CCA Coordinators, Prof. Tabassum Naqi, Dr. Arif Mohammad, NSS Officers, Prof. Roohi Fatima, Dr. Raisa Khan. All houses were decorated by various means i.e. food stalls, cloth stalls and varied kinds of artefact were prepared and presented by all eight houses. All the members of all eight houses marked their presence during the event with great zeal and enthusiasm. Both the judges visit the respective states area of the house and praise the students for their commendable efforts to reflect the diversity in India at one place and grade them accordingly.
