Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that 562 Vidya Bharati schools are currently operating across the state, providing education to nearly 1.25 lakh students. He made the remarks while addressing the Pratibha Samman Samaroh organised by Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shikshan Sansthan in Roorkee, where meritorious High school and Intermediate Board students were honoured.
The Chief Minister said that their achievements reflect the values of dedication, discipline and hard work as he congratulated the awardees. He noted that Vidya Bharati has played an important role in expanding value-based education rooted in Indian culture and patriotism across Uttarakhand and the country. According to him, the organisation has steadily grown from the Swaraswati Shishu Mandir movement into one of India’s largest educational networks.
Dhami highlighted the state’s education reforms and said that the Uttarakhand government has implemented the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, introduced smart classrooms, strengthened skill development programmes, and enacted a strict anti-copying law to improve the quality and credibility of education. In praise of the Vidya Bharati teachers, volunteers and staff, he said that they have actively contributed in promoting education and serving communities during challenging times.
