Vice President emphasizes on the importance of primary education in mother tongue

:- M. Venkaiah Naidu addressed the youth at the Platinum Jubilee inaugural ceremony of Mount Carmel College (MCC)

Bengaluru: Honourable Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu recently visited the city to inaugurate Mount Carmel College’s Platinum Jubilee year. Addressing the students of the institution, Mr. Naidu stressed on the importance of including mother tongue in education and said that it helps in easy understanding, grasping and communication mentioning how the President of India, Chief Justice or even he himself never attended any convent but were still able to reach their positions with dedication.

The Vice President appreciated the alumni of the college who have reached great heights in their chosen field and have contributed to the nation's growth. He mentioned how women can go on to be independent and successful if provided with enough opportunities and better education. In addition, he also stressed on the importance of hard work, confidence and discipline in life.

The event was also graced by honourable Governor of Karnataka, Mr. Thawar Chand Gehlot and former Governor of Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, Mrs. Margaret Alva, herself an alumna of Mount Carmel College along with the presence of many other distinguished personalities. 

Present dignitaries also released a special commemorative envelope of India Post during the celebration.
