Contents of the City Slip and its Importance Before the Admit Card

The UPTET 2026 City Intimation Slip has one function: to inform candidates of their exam city to book travel and lodging ahead of time instead of waiting for the official admit card. This is extremely beneficial for an exam that has almost 20 lakh registrations spread across the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The city slip does not act as an entry pass to the exam hall. Candidates cannot use this in place of the admit card. Any candidate who attempts to enter the exam center without the official admit card will not be allowed to sit the exam.

The city intimation slip displays:

  • Exam city and district allotted
  • Exam shift (morning/afternoon)
  • Paper number (Paper 1, Paper 2, or both)
  • Name and registration number of the candidate

In contrast, the admit card will include the complete center address, roll number, photograph, and signature of the candidate, reporting time, exam day instructions and a list of documents to be brought along. It is strongly advised that candidates check the city slip as soon as possible. Any discrepancy in the name, registration number or shift must be reported to the UPESSC helpdesk before the admit card stage closes the correction window. Once the admit card is issued, changes will be much more difficult to process.
