Lucknow ; In a significant move to support students, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to reopen the scholarship and fee reimbursement portal for the 2025–26 academic session.
The decision, taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to provide another opportunity to students who were unable to apply earlier due to technical or procedural issues.
Relief for Thousands of Students
This initiative is expected to benefit thousands of students across the state who missed the initial application window. The scheme will be applicable to students from the general category, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and the transgender community.
Officials stated that reopening the portal is intended to ensure that no eligible student is deprived of financial assistance for their education.
Application Process to Resume
The Social Welfare Department will soon enable the portal for fresh applications. Students who could not complete their applications earlier will now be able to apply and receive scholarship benefits along with fee reimbursement.
Authorities have emphasized that this step is part of the government’s effort to remove barriers that may have prevented students from accessing financial aid.
Previous Disbursement Highlights
During a similar initiative last year, the state government disbursed scholarships and fee reimbursements worth ₹81.12 crore to 53,041 students.
Out of this total:
- ₹30.65 crore was allocated to 25,395 students from Scheduled Castes
- ₹50.47 crore benefited 27,646 students from the general category
These figures highlight the scale of financial support being extended to students in the state.
Government’s Focus on Inclusive Education
Minister of State for Social Welfare (Independent Charge) Asim Arun reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring equal educational opportunities.
He stated that the initiative reflects the vision of providing accessible education to all, ensuring that financial constraints do not force students to discontinue their studies.
The reopening of the portal is expected to strengthen the state’s efforts toward inclusive and equitable education.
