UP govt to launch 'Mission Niramaya' to improve nursing, paramedical training

Lucknow: Terming nursing and paramedical staff as the backbone of the health and medical system, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday that there is a need for drastic changes in nursing and paramedical training keeping in view the future requirements. The Uttar Pradesh government will launch 'Mission Niramaya' to revamp nursing and paramedical training. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday issued directive principles for improving the quality of education in the nursing colleges.

In view of this, according to an official statement issued on Friday, instructions have been given to start 'Mission Niramaya' for comprehensive improvement in the training of nurses and paramedics.

The Chief Minister emphasized on increasing the quality of education in nursing and paramedical colleges. During the training, he also stressed on the need for better training in nursing and paramedical institutions, for this, well-planned efforts should also be made, the statement said, the policy should be decided in consultation with reputed private sector hospitals, it quoted Adityanath as saying.

"Many institutes of the state are doing good work including some private sector institutions. Such best practices should be implemented in other institutions as well. For this, a mentor-mentee model should be adopted. We must work systematically toward better employment in addition to improved training. In order to decide on this policy, reputed private sector hospitals should be consulted. For young people pursuing nursing training, practical experience is crucial, CM said.

He said practical knowledge is very necessary for the youth taking training in nursing. There is a need to make more and more youths aware about better career prospects in the nursing and paramedical Sector, the chief minister added.
