New Delhi. ; The University of Tasmania has announced the Tasmanian International Scholarship, a programme aimed at recognizing and rewarding academic excellence among new international students. This scholarship provides a 25% tuition fee reduction per year for the entire duration of the selected programme.

Scholarship Overview

Eligible international students who apply for undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees will be automatically considered for this scholarship. The award is based on the student’s highest academic qualification prior to their programme at the university, provided it is of at least one year in duration.

Successive Scholarship Opportunities

In addition to the Tasmanian International Scholarship, students can also apply for a successive scholarship at the end of their first academic semester. This second opportunity is based on their academic performance during the semester, allowing them to potentially increase the scholarship amount further.

Eligible Programmes and Exclusions

The scholarship applies to most undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees, with a few exceptions. Undergraduate students applying for the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Dementia Care, and AMC Seafaring courses are not eligible for this scholarship.

How Scholarship Decisions Are Made

Scholarship decisions are based on the applicant's country-specific qualification and grading scales. Applicants are notified of their scholarship status in their offer letter, along with terms and conditions which must be reviewed carefully. Importantly, this scholarship is only available to new students—current students are not reassessed for this award.
