Ladakh: The Department of Computer Science and IT at the University of Ladakh has invited applications for two project-based positions under a research initiative titled “An AI and IoT-based intrusion detection and early warning system to protect livestock-dependent communities and support snow leopard conservation in Ladakh.” The project is being carried out in collaboration with IIT Bhilai Innovation and Technology Foundation.
The application process is open from April 21 to April 30, 2026. The institute is recruiting for the position of Senior Project Associate, which requires candidates to hold a Master’s degree in Computer Applications, Electronics, or a B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science or related fields with at least 55% marks or equivalent. Applicants must also have a minimum of four years of experience in research and development in academic or industrial institutions. A doctoral degree in Computer Science or Electronics, along with specialisation in Internet of Things (IoT), computer vision, and predictive modelling, will be preferred.
The second position is for a Field Assistant. Candidates applying for this role should have a B.Sc. degree or a three-year diploma in engineering and technology, along with 1–6 months of field experience, preferably in wildlife-related work.
Both positions are purely temporary and will be offered for a duration of one year. The Senior Project Associate will receive a monthly salary of ₹42,000 along with house rent allowance, while the Field Assistant will be paid ₹18,000 per month with HRA.
