Kolkata, : The University of Calcutta has officially opened the Postgraduate (PG) registration process for the academic year 2025–2026, which will be conducted entirely through online mode. According to a notice issued by Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Debasis Das on Tuesday, the registration process will commence on October 29, 2025, and will remain open until January 15, 2026.
The official circular, addressed to all Deans, Principals, and Heads of Departments under the University, provides comprehensive details regarding eligibility, documentation, and procedural requirements for various categories of applicants, including migrating students, foreign students, and BA LLB students.
Important Information for Migrating Students
Students who have graduated from universities other than the University of Calcutta are classified as Migrating Students. The university has issued a strict submission window for these applicants.
Migrating students must submit hard copies of their registration forms along with all required documents to the Registrar’s Office (College Street Campus, Kolkata – 700073) between October 29 and November 1, 2025, on all official working days.
The submission portal for Migrating Students will open on October 26 and close on November 1, 2025.

1. For Migrating Students
- Original Migration and Registration Certificates
- Fees Payment Receipt
- Equivalence Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree Marksheet and Certificate
2. For Foreign Students
- Valid Passport and Visa
- Academic Transcript and High School Certificate
- Equivalence Certificate from AIU
- Migration Certificate from Previous Institution
- FRRO Copy
- ‘H’ and ‘O’ Level Certificates
- No Objection Certificate from the Government of India
- AICTE Approval (where applicable)
- Recommendation Letter from the Departmental Committee
3. For BA LLB Students
- College-wise Online Admission List (Session 2025–2026)
- Category-wise List of Admitted Students with Rank or Marks
- Approved List of Foreign Students (if applicable)
- Approved Seat Matrix for all Law Colleges/Departments (Session 2025–2026)
The University of Calcutta has urged all principals, heads of institutions, and departmental authorities to ensure that their students adhere strictly to the prescribed schedule and submission requirements to complete their PG registration process smoothly for the upcoming academic year.
With the process being entirely digital, the initiative is expected to streamline administrative efficiency while ensuring transparency in student admissions and documentation.
