NTA to Publish Provisional Answer Keys for UGC NET June 2026 - This Week

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has notified that provisional Answer Keys for the UGC NET June 2026 exam will be published on the Agency's website this week. Provisional Answer Keys for the CSIR UGC NET, ICAR AIEEA (PG), and AICE (PhD) 2026 will also be published.

In a Public Notice dated 10th August 2026, NTA has provided information to the candidates that the answer key process for these examinations has started.

UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key - This Week

The candidates who appeared for the UGC NET June 2026 exam will have to wait for the NTA publication of the provisional answer key on the NTA website. The provisional key will enable the candidates to view the exam answer sheet and compare their answers with those of NTA. The candidates will also be provided the opportunity to raise challenges during the objection window.

In the 10th August Notice, NTA has not provided the exact date and time for the release. The Notice mentions that the provisional keys will be released during the week. Candidates are advised to refrain from relying on rumors regarding the exact time for the release.

CSIR NET and ICAR Exams Also Covered

Answer key releases aren't exclusive to UGC NET. As per the NTA notice, provisional answer keys will also be published for:

  • UGC NET June 2026
  • CSIR UGC NET 2026
  • ICAR AIEEA (PG) 2026
  • ICAR AICE (PhD) 2026

According to the official examination notification, the Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2026 will take place on July 17 and 18, 2026. NTA will provide provisional answer keys for UGC NET June 2026 in the official information bulletin to respond to challenges and for recorded responses prior to the result announcement.

What Can Candidates Do After the Answer Key Is Released?

Candidates will be able to do a lot of things once the provisional answer key is published, but one of them is NOT to calculate the final score. They will first need to do the following on the relevant official NTA examination website:

  • Open the provisional answer key or candidate response.
  • Compare the recorded response with the provisional answer.

If the answer is incorrect, follow the NTA procedures to challenge the answer within the time limit. Once the answer keys are published, candidates will be informed of the challenge procedures.

Why is the Provisional Answer Key Important?

The provisional answer key is a critical step in the exam process because it allows candidates to identify errors before the final answer key is made. In the case of UGC NET, the NTA official information bulletin has a provision that allows for challenges to the provisional answer key, and the candidate's responses will be shown. Candidates are instructed to keep their response sheet for reference.

The final answer key is made after the challenges are submitted, and it is used in the evaluation of results.

NTA Requests Candidates to Follow Original Information

The public notice released on August 10 has one instruction for candidates: only trust the information from the official communication of NTA. This is very important during the release of the answer keys, as during this time, unofficial websites and social media posts about answer key release claim incorrect release dates, objection fee, and challenge procedures.

Candidates should only believe the NTA and exam-specific website for information and not believe any posts.

What is the Next Step for UGC NET June 2026?

The provisional answer key is not the final result, and candidates will be given an opportunity to see the key and raise challenges during the specified timeframe. NTA will thereafter complete the subsequent steps of the evaluation and announcement of the results as per the rules of the examination. The release of the provisional answer key will represent the next key milestone for the candidates expecting the results of the UGC NET June 2026.

As the keys are set to be published this week and the agency hasn’t released a specific date and time, applicants are advised to watch the official channels instead of guessing.

After the keys are published, applicants are advised to check their responses and use the official challenge method within the stated time.
