NTA Launches Scribe Registration for PwD Candidates for UGC NET June 2026
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a new online system for the UGC NET June 2026 exam. This is a system for eligible Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) to register their Scribes. This new system will give eligible PwD and PwBD candidates support in advance of the examination.
The current announcement comes as the UGC NET June 2026 exams are scheduled to occur June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, and 30. The candidates have already been notified of their exam city through the advance city intimation slip dated June 10. The admit cards were issued on June 17.
Time for Scribe Registration is Limited
As per the announcement, the scribe registration portal will be open from June 18 to June 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Eligible PwD and PwBD candidates will have the opportunity to register a scribe during this time for the exam that will be held on the specified dates. NTA has recommended that candidates register a scribe well in advance of the deadline to avoid a last-minute complication.
How Candidates Can Register a Scribe
NTA has provided candidates with instructions regarding registration of scribe usage:
- Go to the official UGC NET Site
- Log in with testing credentials
- Candidates Dashboard: Click the “Register Scribe Details” option
- Choose the applicable scribe option and provide the required details
- Confirm details on the application and confirmation page
Only candidates who meet the requirements as per the Scribe Usage guidelines will have the registration option available
Important Support for Accessible Examinations
Having a Scribe as part of the testing accommodations ensures that candidates with disabilities have the opportunity to participate in national level testing and that they have equal access to all opportunities. NTA has opened the registration portal prior to exam dates in order to provide eligible candidates with a better testing experience. '
Candidates should monitor the official UGC NET page for more information and exam details. For additional assistance, candidates should contact the NTA Help Desk using the official support channels stated on the notice. As exam dates approach, individuals who have registered for Scribe services are reminded that the registration portal is time-limited and to complete any outstanding requests.
