UGC Chief: NTA Aiming for Quick Announcement of CUET UG 2024 Results

UGC Chief M Jagadesh Kumar has announced that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is working diligently to release the results as soon as possible.

New Delhi: As lakhs of students await the Common University Entrance Test, Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 results, UGC Chief M Jagadesh Kumar has announced that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is working diligently to release the results as soon as possible.

The provisional answer key for CUET UG was released on July 7, with candidates given until July 9 to raise objections. “After the draft key challenge period, experts review the challenges and prepare the final key. This process typically takes about a week or two, but NTA is expediting efforts to announce the results promptly,” Kumar told indianexpress.com.

This year, NTA also stated that a retest for CUET UG candidates will be conducted from July 15 to 19 if any grievances about the exam are found to be valid. This announcement follows the NTA's earlier controversy with the NEET UG 2024 results, which were released 10 days ahead of schedule.

CUET UG was held from May 15 to 29, despite originally being scheduled from May 15 to 24. On May 14, NTA postponed the May 15 exam in all Delhi centers due to unavoidable reasons. The affected test papers (Chemistry - 306, Biology - 304, English - 101, and General Test - 501) were rescheduled to May 29, with revised admit cards issued accordingly. The exam eventually took place on May 19.

Initially, the CUET UG results were slated for release on June 30, but NTA delayed them due to paper leak allegations involving NEET UG, UGC NET, and CSIR UGC NET.

CUET UG serves as the single-window test for admissions to a majority of undergraduate programs at 46 central universities, including Delhi University (DU), Allahabad University, and Banaras Hindu University (BHU). This year, for the first time, the entrance test was conducted in a hybrid format—both online and pen-and-paper—across multiple shifts.
