Mahendergarh, 13 April 2023: With an objective to acquaint the students with knowledge of "Total Station", Two-Day Workshop on "Total Station" was organized by the Dept. of Civil Engineering, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh. The purpose of the workshop was to make students aware of Modern Surveying Instruments as they have the subject of surveying in their academics. Total Station is an advanced surveying instrument and is largely used in the field of Civil engineering. The workshop on Total Station had the purpose to give exposure to students of practical and operational techniques by field experts. A total of 78 students including those from the Second and Third years were participants of this workshop.

The workshop was inaugurated by Er. Sunny Tawar with its inaugural speech highlighting the importance of Total Station in Civil Engineering. The resource persons were the Faculty Members of the Civil Engineering Department of CUH itself. Dr. Vikas Garg (HOD) Civil Engineering Department encouraged students for the workshop and said such workshops will be continuously taking place in the future as well. Expert lectured students on the theoretical portion along with practical sessions for a deeper understanding of the domain. The First Session was conducted by expert Vivek Pant, Janak Positioning India In his session Expert showed the students how Total Station works on the field with all its functions.

All the students were privileged to have experience of operating Total Station individually after the theoretical understanding of its functionality. After the Practical Implementation students learned to conclude all the practical work in a map using Auto Plotter and Auto CAD. In nutshell, Students appreciated the effort of organizing the workshop and got theoretical and practical exposure to Total Station.
