Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Admissions 2026: UG and PG Courses Now Available

The Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) in Patiala, Punjab, has opened its online registration portal for the 2026-27 academic year. Students across India can apply for engineering, computing, liberal arts, and management sciences programs at the undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral levels.

For the engineering programs of the institute, TIET considers the ranks of the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2026) among other modes of assessment and allocation of seats. Because the institutional selection system has its own counselling rounds based on the JEE Main percentiles, candidates are not required to qualify for the JEE Advanced.

This positions TIET as an attractive option for engineering students who are looking for other opportunities outside the IIT system. The university has received elite accreditation from the NAAC with an A++ Grade, and is ranked among the top private technical institutions in India by the NIRF. With a sprawling smart campus of 250 acres, strong industry connections, and a solid placement record, the 2026 cycle is highly competitive, with particular demand for courses in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).

UG and PG Courses, Eligibility, and Admission Parameters
