  • Pay the fee for counselling

The official web page currently displays the extension of August 31 in large font.

TG PGECET 2026 Official Counselling Portal

The next major thing that happens is the publication of a list of verified and eligible candidates. Under the revised schedule, this would happen on September 1. Candidates MUST check their details AFTER the list is published and report discrepancies as per the instructions provided. Only eligible candidates who have completed the process would be allowed to proceed to the Web-Options process.

TG PGECET 2026 Web Options

According to the revised schedule, candidates would need to fill in their preferences for colleges and courses from September 2 to 4. Candidates are requested to select their preferences based on a lot of research concerning colleges and courses rather than filling in the Web Options as a last-minute activity. According to the schedule, the options are expected to remain open for editing on September 4.

When Will TG PGECET Phase 2 Seat Allotment Happen?

The provisional college seat Allotment is now scheduled for September 8, 2026, as against the earlier date of September 5. Candidates who get allotted a seat are required to report and undergo the procedure for admission, which includes payment and submission of relevant documents for verification. The reporting dates have been changed to September 9 to 12.

Documents to be ready for the admission process

Candidates should be ready with their original documents and copies of the above given.

  • Rank card for TG PGECET
  • GATE score card for applying candidates
  • Degree or Provisional certificate
  • Certificate for SSC for date of birth
  • Memos of consolidated marks
  • Study certificates
  • Transfer certificate
  • Aadhaar card
  • Residential certificate
  • Income certificate
  • Caste certificate
  • EWS certificate
  • Minority status certificate
  • PwD certificate

Why the Deadline Extension Matters?

The extension from the earlier deadline of August 27 is now August 31. This will help candidates late in registration to have time to verify documents. However, the extension will affect the whole admission process, so candidates should not expect another extension. The recommendation is to register before August 31 and wait for the web options preference period in September.

TG PGECET 2026 Phase 2: What Candidates Should Do Now

Currently, there are three things candidates need to do:

  • Candidates must register and verify their certificates by August 31
  • candidates can view the verified list of candidates on September 1.
  • Candidates must complete the preparation of their college and course preferences before web options are opened on September 2.

Preference errors during the preference selection process can have the same adverse impact as rank differences for sought-after admission positions with limited seats.

Final Thoughts

The extension of the deadline for TG PGECET Phase 2 Counselling to August 31 has benefitted M.E., M.Tech and M.Arch aspirants as they now have time to register and verify their certificates. The new peer review calendar lists the verified candidates on September 1, web options from September 2 to 4, the seat-allocation result on September 8, and the reporting process from September 9 to 12.

For candidates currently out of the counselling process, the deadline of August 31 is of prime importance. After the closure of registrations, the process becomes fast and preference order, as well as allocation, becomes of urgent importance.
