Hyderabad, June 27: The ongoing Telangana Junior Basketball League (TJBL) at the Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium (located in Yousufguda, Hyderabad) was once again a source of much excitement on Friday as Warangal Stallions, Nalgonda Speed Strikers, and Vikarabad Mambas won all categories. Telangana's first fully professional basketball league for youth is scheduled to run until June 28, with games played daily from 5 PM to 10 PM.
Warangal Stallions, in the U15 Girls division, easily defeated Nizam Royals, 62 to 38. The game was highlighted by dual 23-point performances of Tanisa and Aishwarya. In the U15 Boys division, the Nalgonda Speed Strikers overcame Ranga Reddy Raptors in an 88 to 76 contest, which saw Rishab score 28 points and Aditya 18 for the victors. Raptors' Anxity scored 26, and Aadish Reddy had 16. The U18 Girls contest featured the Nalgonda Speed Strikers defeating the Vikarabad Mambas, 49 to 43, with Sahasra leading the way for the Strikers with 21 points and Tejal netting 12, while Mambas' Avantika scored 17 points and Divyansi 15.
The last contest of the day was the U18 Boys division, where the Vikarabad Mambas defeated the Nizam Royals, 97 to 75, with Mambas' Suryansh leading all contestants and scoring 41 points, and Yeshwanth scoring 26, with Yagnesh scoring 17 for Nizam Royals and Ram Krish, Sai, and Lottith each having 16 points. As we reach the final stages of the league, the remarkable dedication and sportsmanship from players and teams create even more history in what has been a successful start to the TJBL, as the tournament continues to provide a first-class opportunity to discover basketball talent in the state of Telangana.
