Successful Completion of Three Day National Youth Parliament at PGDAV College

PGDAV College, University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Samvaad Society and the Viksit Bharat Society, successfully organized a three-day National Youth Parliament

New Delhi :— The Department of Political Science at PGDAV College, University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Samvaad Society and the Viksit Bharat Society, successfully organized a three-day National Youth Parliament on April 15, 16, and 17. The primary objective of the event was to deliberate on, debate, and propose suggestions for the "Viksit Bharat: Youth Resolution Bill", and to pass the bill for submission to the Government of India.

A total of 75 participants were selected from universities across the country through a rigorous three-stage online examination. Following their selection, an All India Party Meet was conducted on the college campus, where the participants elected key positions including the Prime Minister, Union Ministers, Party Presidents, Speaker, and others. Prior to this, participants engaged in consultations with over 50 experts to draft the initial version of the bill.
The "Viksit Bharat Youth Resolution Bill 2047", passed during the Youth Parliament, presented a comprehensive strategy to transform India into a developed nation. It emphasized key areas such as education, innovation, women empowerment, employment, Digital India, environmental balance, and youth participation. It was unanimously resolved to present this bill to the Government of India.

During the valedictory session, Union Minister of State Shri. Harsh Malhotra addressed the youth, stating, “The involvement of India’s youth in the journey towards a developed nation is truly inspiring. Their clarity of vision and commitment will shape the future of our country.”

Chief Guest and MLA of Greater Kailash, Mrs. Shikha Rai, remarked in her address, “It is a matter of pride to interact with such dynamic and visionary youth. ‘With the vision and energy of youth – we build a developed India’ is not merely a slogan, but our collective commitment.”
On this occasion, Prof. Rekha Saxena, Head of the Department of Political Science, DU,  along with Prof. Himanshu Roy, Prof. Vivek Kumar, and Prof. Amitabh Singh from JNU,  also addressed and guided the participants. On April 16, the participants formally took oaths for their respective parliamentary roles.

Prof. Krishna Sharma, Principal of the college and Prof Abhay Prasad Singh, Head of the Department, congratulated all participants and described the event as a milestone in the journey toward a developed India. The Student Secretariat played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth coordination and execution of the entire event.
