Application Procedures and Deadlines

Most students will apply through Studielink, but keep in mind some institutions have their own application procedures. Studying in NL has a list of relevant dates:

• Applications for numerus fixus programs are due January 15.
• Applications for all other programs are due May 1.

These dates are not strict deadlines. Some institutions and programs establish their own deadline dates that may be different.

Students applying to numerus fixus programs can apply to a maximum of two such programs in a given year, unless they are applying to programs in the fields of medicine or dentistry.

Netherlands Student Visa and Residence Permit

Non-EU/EEA students generally require a Student residence permit. The educational institution applies for the residence permit and sends it to the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND). The program must be accredited.
