To Support India's Global Education Vision
The NEP 2020 is focused on the internationalization of higher education in India through the participation of more foreign students and faculty. The Study in India program is one of the tools that fulfill this purpose. In just a decade, the world of higher education in India has diversified greatly and expanded in many fields such as Engineering, Management, Medicine, Humanities, Social Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. The SII portal gathers these diverse opportunities in one place for the international student market.
According to scholars in the field, increasing the number of foreign students in Indian academia increases cultural exchange, enriches the Indian university system, and improves the standing of Indian universities on a global scale. Increased international enrolment can enhance research collaboration and broader academic engagement. While international competition to attract students grows, the expanding Study in India Portal indicates that India is progressively trying to move from being the largest exporter of students to being one of the more attractive countries on the list of global education providers.
With endless institutions, innumerable courses, and growing student interest, the initiative is becoming essential to the strategy of the Indian government to ensure that is seen as a global educational center.
