Haryana: Simran Chauhan, a student of Structural Engineering, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, put forward her views at the National Environment Youth Parliament (NEYP) 2022. Held at the Parliament premises, the event was attended by 136 participants from 88 universities and educational institutions and CUH student was selected as the best Leader of Opposition. At the end of the event, eminent environmentalist Padam Shri Savji Dolakia gave certificates and encouraged the participants. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar congratulated Simran for this achievement and also called upon other students and the public to protect the environment.
It should be mentioned here that CUH student Simran Chauhan got the opportunity to express her views at the National Environment Youth Parliament after the remarkable performance in the competition held at the regional level in January 2022. Speaker of the Lok Sabha Shri Om Birla also attended the main function held at the Parliament premises. In-charge of Green Campus Clean Campus Cell of the University Prof. Surendra Singh also congratulated Simran and wished her a bright future. Simran attributed this achievement to her father Shri Shivcharan Chauhan, mother Smt. Manju Chauhan along with her family and teachers, who taught her the importance of trees and plants in environmental protection from her childhood. Simran said that we should plant trees on all auspicious occasions and use cloth bags instead of polythene. She says that by inspiring the public for all these, she feels connected to the environment.
