Faridabad - Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth has introduced a structured roadmap for students who wish to pursue a career as Construction Managers, highlighting the growing opportunities in India’s infrastructure and urban development sectors. With large-scale investments in highways, metro rail, smart cities, and national waterways, the university emphasized that construction management is emerging as a high-demand profession with strong career growth.
According to the roadmap, students should begin by completing 10+2 in the science stream with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Computer Science, securing at least 50% marks from a recognized board. For undergraduate studies, the university recommends pursuing B.Tech in Civil Engineering or B.Arch, both of which provide strong foundations in structural design, building materials, and project planning. Students can further enhance their expertise through M.Tech in Construction Management, short-term diplomas, and certifications in safety management, BIM, AutoCAD, and project planning tools.
The university also highlighted essential skills required for success in construction management, including communication, team leadership, financial management, risk assessment, negotiation, and technology proficiency. Practical exposure through internships, site visits, and real-time project training forms a crucial part of the suggested pathway. Leadership roles such as project director or senior construction manager become accessible with experience and professional certifications.
Sharing salary insights, Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth noted that entry-level construction managers can earn between ₹3–6 lakh annually, while mid-level professionals may earn ₹8–12 lakh. Senior-level managers handling large projects can earn ₹15–25 lakh or more, especially in metro cities. The university stated that with structured education, industry-relevant training, and placement support, students can build a rewarding and impactful career shaping India’s infrastructure landscape.
