SSC CGL 2025 Exams Cancelled at Multiple Centres

Server Glitches, Mismanagement Spark Chaos in Delhi-NCR, Jaipur, and Jammu

New Delhi: The Staff Selection Commission’s (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025 Tier-I faced disruptions and cancellations at several centres on Friday, leaving thousands of aspirants frustrated. Technical glitches, poor management, and confusion triggered chaos at centres in Delhi, Gurgaon, Jaipur, and Jammu, forcing police intervention in some cases.

Chaos at Gurgaon Centre

  • At MM Public School, Sector 4, Gurgaon, candidates arrived only to discover that their exam had been cancelled.
  • Frustrated aspirants damaged the school gate, prompting police deployment.
  • Centre head Manoj Gupta cited server failures and disturbances by agitated candidates as reasons for cancellation.
  • Police confirmed no complaint was filed by the school regarding the damage.

Technical Failures Across States

The disruptions were not limited to Gurgaon:

  • Jammu: The exam was abruptly cancelled citing “technical reasons,” leaving candidates stranded.
  • Jaipur: Exams failed to start on schedule, and police had to be deployed to manage angry students.
  • Delhi: Some candidates complained of being denied entry despite arriving on time.

These incidents reignited criticism of SSC’s preparedness, with aspirants alleging negligence and mismanagement in conducting one of India’s largest recruitment exams.

SSC Response and Reassurances

  • SSC Chairperson S. Gopalakrishnan clarified the situation:
  • Out of 227 centres nationwide, 215 ran smoothly.
  • The Gurgaon centre faced outdated devices and weak networks, causing major disruptions.
  • Minor glitches were also reported in Jammu.

He assured that new centres will be allotted within 10 days in Delhi-NCR, particularly for affected candidates of MM Public School.

Gopalakrishnan stressed that only SSC headquarters can declare cancellations, not individual centres.

Concerns Over Exam Preparedness

  • The latest chaos adds to SSC’s history of technical lapses, raising questions about:
  • The reliability of infrastructure at examination centres.
  • Transparency and fairness in handling disruptions.
  • The Commission’s ability to manage an exam attempted by lakhs of candidates annually.
