Panchkula, August 4: The successful completion of the third edition of SPSMUN 3.0 held from July 28 - July 30, 2026, on the campus of Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula, brought delight to 1,000-plus participants from over 30 schools. Young diplomats, policy makers, journalists and visionaries had the opportunity to participate in conference debates and negotiations. SPSMUN 3.0 helped to build leadership, communication, and global citizenship skills amongst the participants.
The conference had nine committees where participants could engage in leading debates and draft resolutions to solve contemporary problems. The committees included UNCSW, UNSC, UNGA, UNHRC, WHO, AIPPM, IPC, IPL and The Fame Files. This year, the event was entrusted to a capable student Secretariat led by Asmi Khiwani (Secretary General) along with Sanket (President), Ayushi (Deputy Secretary General), Navya (Director General), Sagar (Chief of Staff) and Arshiya (Convener), along with SPSMUN Coordinator Mrs. Rupan Khanna Gosain. The event was executed without a glitch.
With a warm welcome to delegates in formal western attire to the ceremonial opening of SPSMUN 3.0, and the performances of Sufi music and Kathak fusion, delegates set the tone for the ceremonial opening. The school management encouraged participants to be diplomats who practice ethical leadership and are responsible global citizens. At last, the Secretary-General, on their behalf, declared the conference open.
Tense but exciting committee sessions followed where debates, caucuses, and persistent effort to find working solutions dominated the next three days. Outside the committee sessions, delegates participated in networking activities, went to food stalls and an activity stall, and attended the Social Night, which was a new addition to the conference this year and was designed to afford delegates the opportunity to make new friends.
In spectacular traditional attire, participants danced, sang, and clapped along to songs performed by a talented live band in the closing ceremony of the conference. The event was climaxed by an awards presentation to some outstanding delegates, members of the Executive Board and the Secretariat.

Many delegates were also given High Commendations, Special and Honourable Mentions, and Verbal Mentions for outstanding achievements in research, diplomacy, and public speaking across the various committees. While addressing the audience, Mr. Reekrit Serai, Managing Director, Satluj Group of Schools, said that the definition of education should go beyond excellent academic results. It should include the ability to bring up compassionate and brave leaders. He congratulated the award winners and also appreciated the delegates, members of the Executive Board, Secretariat, all the coordinators, teachers, volunteers, sponsors, technical teams, and support staff who made SPSMUN 3.0 a success.
The school also thanked its organizing committee, faculty, administrative staff, volunteers, hospitality staff, and sponsors for their support in organizing the conference. Having completed its third edition, SPSMUN has established itself as one of the prominent student-organized Model United Nations conferences in the region. True to its spirit, the conference concluded with awards and celebrations. The participants will remember it for the friendships, leadership skills, and the global perspective they gained from three days of meaningful discourse. Listening and being empathetic to different points of view also come under the purview of diplomacy. It's not just about taking part in international talks. It’s about building links through dialogue. The participants of SPSMUN 3.0 will remember the lessons they learned and the experiences they gained.
