 Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 Winners Announced; Students Deliver Powerful Digital Solutions for J&K Government Challenges

Hyderabad, December 12, 2025: The Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 – Software Edition, one of the world’s largest innovation hackathons, concluded with the announcement of winners after an intense 36-hour coding marathon.

Organised by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and AICTE, SIH 2025 brought together talented student innovators from premier institutions across 12 states, hosted at 60 nodal centres nationwide—including Vardhman College of India, one of only five nodal centres in Telangana.

This year’s hackathon challenged finalists to develop solutions for problem statements provided by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, focusing on pressing educational and technological needs.

Innovative Problem Statements Tackled by Finalists

The finalist teams built cutting-edge digital solutions addressing:

  • AI-driven timetable generation aligned with NEP 2020
  • Digital mental health ecosystem for students
  • Centralised student activity record management
  • Personalised career advisory systems
  • ‘Prashikshan’—A new-age academia–industry interface

These projects highlight SIH’s mission of empowering students to solve real-world challenges using technology.

 SIH 2025 – Software Edition: Winning Teams

  • After rigorous evaluation rounds, five exceptional student teams emerged as winners, each receiving ₹1,50,000 from the Ministry of Education.

  • Eklavya – MIT Academy of Engineering, Pune, Maharashtra
  • Gap Bridgers – IIIT Nagpur, Maharashtra
  • Hack Hounds – Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
  • Team Pioneers – Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, Tamil Nadu
  • Teen Titans – Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Maharashtra

A team member from one of the winners shared:
