Kolkata, West Bengal: Kolkata recently witnessed an inspiring wave of student innovation as over 100 schools competed in West Bengal’s first-ever AI-focused quiz at Shri Shikshayatan School. Unlike typical quizzes, this event wasn’t just about memorization — it was designed to test problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creative application of artificial intelligence concepts.
Students from different schools eagerly tackled challenging rounds, including logic puzzles, real-life AI scenario questions, and interactive problem-solving sessions. The atmosphere was electric — participants huddled in teams, brainstorming strategies, and celebrating each correct answer with cheers and high-fives.
By the end of the day, GD Goenka Public School, Dakshineshwar emerged as champions, with Central Modern School, Baranagar, and Narula Public School securing runner-up positions. Winners received cash prizes, medals, and certificates, while special recognition awards were given to schools that demonstrated out-of-the-box AI thinking and teamwork.
Teachers and organisers highlighted how such initiatives go beyond academics, fostering confidence, curiosity, and early exposure to technology trends. They stressed that AI literacy is becoming increasingly important, and starting students young gives them an edge in future careers.
The event reflects a larger movement in India’s education system to introduce future-ready skills, blending competitive spirit with hands-on learning in cutting-edge fields like AI, robotics, and machine learning.
