Shiv Nadar University Chennai confers degrees to 446 students at second Convocation

· Mr Sridhar Vembu, Chief Scientist and Co-founder, Zoho Corporation, attended as Chief Guest.................· The graduating class represented Bachelors in engineering, commerce, humanities and Masters programmes..................· A total of 439 graduates participated in the ceremony

 

Chennai, 16th July 2026: Shiv Nadar University Chennai conferred degrees to 446 students at its second Convocation for the Class of 2026. Sridhar Vembu, Chief Scientist and Co-founder of Zoho Corporation, attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. Roshni Nadar Malhotra and Shikhar Malhotra, Trustees of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, were present with R. Srinivasan, Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University Chennai and Prof. S.K. Bhattacharyya, Vice Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University Chennai, to congratulate the graduating class.

The Convocation brought together graduating students, parents, deans of various departments, members of the Board, faculty, alumni and distinguished guests. Addressing the students, Sridhar Vembu, Chief Scientist and Co-Founder, Zoho Corporation, said, "As you graduate today, remember that every technological revolution rewards those who are willing to learn and reinvent themselves. AI will reshape industries, but it also reinforces an enduring truth: strong foundations matter. Whatever your field, invest in mastering the fundamentals, because technology is only as powerful as the quality of the thinking that guides it. Stay curious, embrace change with optimism, and never stop earning your place in an evolving world."

Prof. S K Bhattacharyya, Founding Vice-Chancellor, Shiv Nadar University Chennai, said, “Convocation is the culmination of years of hard work, learning and achievement. It also marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities and challenges. I am confident that the knowledge, skills and values our students have gained at Shiv Nadar University Chennai will enable them to excel in an ever-evolving future. My heartfelt congratulations to the graduating class and their families, and my sincere appreciation to our faculty and staff for their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and student development.”

The graduating class included students from the engineering, commerce and economics deparment. Students were also recognised for outstanding academic achievement, research excellence, leadership and contributions to the wider University community.

An impressive 81%  of this batch has already secured placements with leading corporates across diverse sectors — IT, Fintech, Emerging Tech, AI/Data Science, Product/SaaS/Enterprise Platforms,

Consulting & Advisory, Analytics, E-commerce, Banking, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Financial Services, and Audit/Tax. A number of students have also chosen to pursue higher studies at universities in India and abroad. The highest package offered touched an outstanding ₹1 crore per annum.
