New Delhi: Delhi government colleges have issued instructions to drastically cut the salaries of associate professors and assistant professors due to scarcity of funds. In a message sent by Delhi's Deendayal Upadhyay College administration to the professors, it has been said that the college administration is short of money, so Rs 50,000 in the salary of associate professors and Rs 30,000 for assistant professors are being cut.

The colleges have said that when sufficient funds are available with them, the salary currently being deducted will be given back to them.  But no explanation has been given on when it will be given. Professors say that their financial condition is worsening due to the salary cut in the festive season. At the same time, there has been no response from the Delhi government on this news so far.
