RGUKT Basar Chess Registration 2026 Begins Today

The date for this tournament hasn't been set yet, but the preparations have begun. Chess Tournaments for the 2026-27 Academic Year have been officially announced by Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Basar. Earlier today, the Department of Physical Education released an official statement with instructions for eligible students to register. Contestants still need to go to the Shathavahana Grounds – Stage/Dais to register in person by the end of today.

RGUKT Basar Chess Competition 2026: Key Details

The university has not specified the actual chess competition date in the September 8 registration notice. Instead, it says the competition schedule and further details will be communicated through the official RGUKT HUB and Department of Physical Education.

Who Can Register?

CPUC-I and CPUC-II boys and girls can register for chess. Participants must follow all instructions from the Physical Education Department and should also be polite and listen to the competition guidelines. Think of this as an opportunity for participants to sign up to compete. Active participation doesn't mean the first round starts today. RGUKT has not released the tournament schedule.

RGUKT PUC Annual Games 2026–27: Next Steps?

Chess is now a sport at RGUKT Basar for the 2026–27 academic year. For the previous academic year, a university sports notice mentioned Chess, Cricket, Basketball, Table Tennis, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Tennikoit, Throwball and Softball as games for PUC. The notice also stated the dates for the PUC Annual Games 2026–27 as 10th September to 31st December 2026.

As confirmed by the university, individual selection and registration notices are being released prior to each competition. Selection for Table Tennis, Football and Basketball has also been scheduled for the same period. Badminton is missing. Recently released sports notices for RGUKT state that the sport of Badminton has been suspended as repairs and maintenance work on the courts has been scheduled. The university said that the work will be completed. Badminton activities will resume once the work is completed.

What Students Need To Do Today

Students who wish to participate in the RGUKT Basar Chess Competitions need to:

• Come to the Shathavahana Grounds Stage/Dais on September 8th.
• Register with the Physical Education Department.
• Fill out the correct personal and participation information.
• Follow the instructions for campus sports and the disciplinary rules.

The university’s message is that today is the registration day, and the chessboard competition comes later. The official RGUKT HUB will give updates the competition time and dates which will be announced later.
